A very big thank you to every school that took part in Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week and helped make it an amazing success.
Nearly 14,000 schools and five million children took part in Britain’s largest school sporting event. The week uses the inspiration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to get young people taking part in and understanding the value of sport.
Schools organised Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Torch Relays, Festivals of Sport and inter and intra school competitions. Many invited local clubs into their school to give taster sessions in a variety of new Olympic and Paralympic sports, and helped their pupils learn about the Values of the Games.
During the week Olympic and Paralympic Medallists visited schools to support and get involved with the activities and help inspire pupils. There are some great news stories from schools that took part this year. Read them by clicking here.
