Flame Followers
To celebrate the epic journey of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, your pupils can join us as Flame Followers and join in the celebrations during the Relay which travels across the UK between 19 May and 27 July 2012. By signing up to Flame Followers this term, you'll be able to access free resources to help get your pupils inspired and excited about the Olympic Torch Relay.
Once registered you can find out how to Adopt a Torchbearer and download lesson
plans, assembly presentations and teacher notes, to help you teach your pupils
about the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. These free cross-curricular resources
deliver against KS2 and KS3 curriculum objectives and cover subjects such as
English, history, geography, Art & Design, D&T, maths and PSHCEE.
Adopt a Torchbearer gives schools the opportunity to invite one of our
inspirational London 2012 Olympic Torchbearers to visit the school. This could
be during National School Sport Week, or for an assembly or Q&A at another time.
Register now and get your pupils inspired and excited about the Olympic Torch
Relay and thinking about how you can celebrate the Relay as it passes through,
or near your community this summer.

Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week
If you are going to be celebrating the Olympic Torch Relay, why not join up with your school PE department and get them to register for Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week.
Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week, delivered in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, is a week-long sporting celebration for schools across Britain, inspired by the power and inspiration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In 2011, more than 4 million young people took part in Britain’s biggest school sport event.
The 2012 week takes place from 25 – 29 June 2012 and this year you are invited to stage your own Games, which can include the activity you will be undertaking as Flame Followers.
Your PE lead in the school can register here.
