Lloyds TSB supports 250 young emerging athletes each year on their journey to London 2012 and beyond through its Local Hero programme, providing these athletes support with the costs of their travel, equipment and training.

Most of these athletes are still at school or studying, and the inspiration they give Lloyds TSB customers and staff through sharing their experiences and ambitions, and the encouragement, recognition and moral support they receive in return, is every bit as important to them.

That's why during Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week in 2009, Local Heroes visited schools across the country to inspire more young people to do more sport.
